About Us
Students Against Oppression (SAO) is a non-government social and human rights organization that began its journey in the context of brutal massacres and horrific human rights violations against students in the anti-discrimination student movement. Since the inception, SAO has taken a strong stand in favor of establishing and preserving the fundamental rights of the students and citizens. As a first step, the SAO published a list identifying the dictatorial government and its party terrorists who attacked innocent students protesting for quota reforms at Dhaka University premise in July 2024. At the same time, SAO published the first and complete list of martyrs who were killed in the most brutal massacre in history conducted by the police, RAB, BGB, army and party terrorists from July 16 to August 5 on the orders of the dictatorial government, which was later published in various domestic and foreign media and newspapers. In addition, it collected lists of those injured in the July Revolution and provided them with medical assistance and one-time financial assistance. The SAO provides free medical care to the injured through the government by providing the list of injured persons to the interim government. This organization, which started its journey in the context of the July Revolution, is committed to ensuring social justice and preserving human rights throughout the country. Students against Oppression will work as a partner to ensure a fair environment for education by eliminating terrorism in education, social justice, fundamental human rights and non-discrimination state formation.
